The short version. I work for you, not for any software company or builder. I don't take commissions. I'll tell you honestly what's worth doing and what isn't. If you don't feel a session was value for money, tell me within 24 hours and you won't be charged for it. AI can get things wrong, so we check its work before relying on it. Anything legal, financial or tax-related goes to the right professional. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law always apply.
1. About these terms
These terms apply when you use this website or any service from Your Dream Lab, a business run by Michael (Mike) Hunt in Noosa, Queensland (ABN 26 318 399 882). "I", "me" and "Dream Lab" mean Mike and Your Dream Lab. "You" means the person or business I'm working with.
For bigger pieces of work I'll send you a written proposal or scope of works. If that document says something different from these terms, the proposal or scope of works wins for that piece of work. Booking a session, paying an invoice or asking me to start work means you accept these terms.
2. What I offer
- AI training: one-on-one or small-group sessions, in person or online, where I help you use AI tools on your own work and devices.
- AI advice and tool selection: working out which jobs are worth handing to AI, which products fit, and setting up simple tools where that's quicker than hiring a builder.
- Independent AI project management: acting on your side for a larger AI project. That can include discovery, writing a scope of works, finding, questioning and vetting suppliers, managing delivery, testing, staff training and post-launch checks.
- AI check-ups: an operational review of the AI and automation your business already uses. This is fact-finding, not legal advice (see section 4).
- Coaching, courses and community: 1-on-1 coaching, the Foundation course, the free monthly Explorer call, workshops and talks.
I'll agree with you what each piece of work includes before I start. Anything not agreed is out of scope until we both say otherwise in writing (email is fine).
3. My independence
Independence is the point of what I do, so I hold myself to these rules:
- I don't sell software, and I don't take commissions, referral fees or kickbacks from vendors, builders or platforms I recommend.
- If any referral or partner arrangement ever exists, I'll tell you about it in writing before you make a decision, and you can choose a different option.
- I'll tell you about anything that could be a conflict of interest, including a past or current working relationship with a supplier you're considering. When I oversee a supplier I know, I check their work like any other.
- I'll recommend the simplest option that does the job, including "don't buy anything" or "use what you already pay for".
4. What I am not
I'm a project manager and trainer with 25 years in IT and telco delivery. I'm not:
- A lawyer, accountant, tax agent or financial adviser. Nothing I say is legal, privacy, tax, financial or insurance advice. Where your project touches those areas, I'll help you work out what to ask and who to ask, and you should get that advice from a qualified professional.
- An AI engineer or software developer. I don't build complex systems or integrations. I help you choose and manage the people who do.
- A technical certifier or auditor. My reviews, tests and sign-off recommendations help you decide. They are not a guarantee that a supplier's system is secure, compliant or error-free.
- A party to your supplier contracts. Contracts for software or build work are between you and the supplier. I can help prepare and negotiate them on your behalf, but you sign them, you own them, and the supplier is responsible for its own work.
5. Working with AI
AI tools are useful, and they also make mistakes. By working with me you understand that:
- AI output can be wrong, out of date or made up. A person should check anything that matters before it's sent to a customer, used for a decision, published or relied on. I'll show you how.
- Tools, prices and features change often. My recommendations are based on what I know at the time. A tool that suits you today may change its terms, price or behaviour later.
- Third-party tools have their own terms and costs. AI products are supplied by their own companies under their own terms and privacy policies. You pay for your own subscriptions unless we agree otherwise, and you're responsible for following those terms.
- Accounts should be in your business's name. I'll set things up so you own the accounts, data and billing. I won't keep your passwords after a session. If I need access for a project, we'll agree how, and you can remove it at any time.
- Your information stays protected. Your sensitive or confidential information is only handled in commercial, enterprise-grade AI tools that don't use it for training. See the Privacy Policy for details.
- Results aren't guaranteed. I'll aim for real time and money saved, and we'll measure it where we can, but I can't promise a particular result. That depends on your business, your team and the tools.
6. Suppliers and builders
When I help you find and manage a supplier:
- I'll shortlist suppliers, put them through a structured set of questions, and give you an honest comparison. The choice is yours.
- I'll rely on what suppliers tell me. I check claims where I reasonably can, but I'm not responsible if a supplier gives false or incomplete information, goes out of business, or doesn't deliver.
- The supplier is responsible for the quality, security, legality and cost of what it builds or supplies, and for its own subcontractors.
- I act on your instructions and only give approvals to a supplier on your behalf if you've authorised me to in writing.
7. Your part
Good projects need both of us. You agree to:
- give me accurate, complete information, and tell me if something changes;
- name a contact person who can answer questions and make decisions, usually within two business days;
- make your staff, systems and access available when we've agreed;
- make sure you have the right to share any information, documents or data you give me, including any personal information about your customers or staff; and
- make your own final decisions about what to buy, build, sign and use.
If a delay or change on your side affects timing or cost, I'll tell you as soon as I know.
8. Quotes, fees and payment
- Prices. My current prices are on this website or in your proposal. All prices are in Australian dollars. I'll tell you before we start whether a price includes GST.
- Hourly work. Coaching, training and advisory work is charged by the hour, in 15-minute blocks after the first hour, unless we agree a package.
- Estimates. For project work I'll give you an estimate or a fixed fee in writing. An estimate is my honest best guess, not a fixed price. If I see that work may go over the estimate, I'll tell you and get your written OK before doing more.
- Deposits. Larger projects may need a deposit before work starts, as set out in the proposal.
- Invoices. Invoices are due within 14 days unless the invoice says otherwise. If an invoice stays unpaid I may pause work until it's settled. If you dispute part of an invoice, please pay the rest and talk to me about the part in question.
- Expenses. I'll only pass on costs like travel outside the Sunshine Coast, software or materials if you've agreed to them in advance.
- Noosa Council Business Boost. Sessions funded through Noosa Council's Business Boost program are provided under that program's rules and eligibility, and Council may change or end the program. If you go beyond the funded hours, my normal rates apply, and I'll tell you before that happens.
9. My value guarantee
If you don't feel you got value for money from a session, you don't pay for it.
Here's how it works:
- The guarantee covers your most recent session with me. For project work, a session means the most recent meeting, workshop or block of work I've invoiced or am about to invoice.
- Tell me by email or SMS within 24 hours of that session ending. You don't have to give a reason, though I'd appreciate hearing what I could do better.
- I won't charge you for that session, or I'll refund it if you've already paid.
- If you don't tell me within 24 hours, the session is treated as accepted and the charges for it stand.
- The guarantee covers my fees only. It doesn't cover third-party costs you've agreed to, such as software subscriptions, supplier fees, venue hire or travel.
This guarantee is in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, and doesn't limit them.
10. Bookings and cancellations
- You can reschedule or cancel a session at no charge with at least 24 hours' notice.
- With less notice, or if you don't show up, I may charge for the session. I'll always try to reschedule first.
- If I need to cancel or move a session, I'll give you as much notice as I can and offer another time, or a refund of anything you've paid for it.
11. Courses and programs
- Live courses run on request, when there's a group ready to start. You can cancel for a full refund up to 7 days before the course starts. After that I'll gladly move you to a later intake.
- Self-paced courses. Because you get access straight away, I don't offer change-of-mind refunds. If something isn't working or isn't as described, tell me and I'll fix it or refund you.
- Course materials are for your personal use and your own business. Please don't copy, resell or share them publicly.
- Group sessions and the Explorer call. Be respectful, and keep what others share in the room. I may remove anyone who makes the space unsafe for others.
- Courses and coaching are education and support. Your results depend on you, your idea and your market, so I can't promise a particular outcome.
12. Ending an engagement
Either of us can end an ongoing engagement with 14 days' written notice, unless your proposal says otherwise. If it ends, you pay for work done up to the end date and any costs already agreed. I'll hand over everything you've paid for and anything I hold that belongs to you. Either of us can end it straight away if the other seriously breaches these terms and doesn't fix it within 7 days of being asked.
13. Confidentiality
I'll keep your business information confidential, use it only to do the work for you, and not share it with anyone without your OK. The exceptions are where the law requires it, or where we've agreed I can share it with a supplier, lawyer or other adviser for your project. This continues after our work ends. If you want a separate confidentiality agreement, I'm happy to sign a reasonable one.
14. Who owns the work
- What I make for you (your scope of works, reports, supplier comparisons, policies and set-ups) belongs to you once it's paid for.
- My own tools (templates, checklists, frameworks, questionnaires, course content and methods) stay mine. You can use them inside your own business but not resell or publish them.
- Your materials stay yours. You give me permission to use them only to do the work.
- I'll only use your name, logo, photo or words in my marketing (for example a testimonial or case study) with your permission. You can withdraw it later and I'll take it down from my website.
15. This website and the AI map
The content on this website, including What AI can actually do, is general information to help you think things through. It isn't advice for your situation. Prices, features and laws change, and I can't guarantee everything is current or complete on the day you read it. Links to other websites and embedded videos are provided for convenience. I'm not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.
16. Liability
Your consumer rights come first. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or changes any right you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that can't be excluded, including the guarantee that services are provided with due care and skill.
Subject to that, and to the extent the law allows:
- if I make a mistake, I'll first try to put it right. Where the law lets me limit my liability, it's limited to supplying the service again or refunding what you paid for the part of the service affected;
- I'm not liable for loss caused by suppliers, software, AI tools or other third parties I don't control, or by decisions you make, information you give me, or AI output you use without checking it; and
- I'm not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost profits, lost data or business interruption, except where the law says I must be.
Neither of us is responsible for delays caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as illness, natural disasters, outages or a supplier failing. We'll keep each other informed and agree a sensible way forward.
17. Complaints and disputes
If you're unhappy, please tell me first at mike@yourdreamlab.org. I'll respond within 5 business days and do my best to fix it. If we can't sort it out between us, we'll try mediation before either of us goes to court. These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.
18. General
- I may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page applies to new work from the date shown at the top. Work already underway stays on the terms you agreed to, unless we both agree to change.
- If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
- I may use trusted subcontractors to help with some work. If I do, I stay responsible to you for it, and I'll tell you beforehand if they'll see your information.
